Overview of CadnaB for building acoustics

CadnaB has been specifically developed to meet the requirements of building acoustics. The software offers a wide range of applications – from designing sound insulation between and within residential units to the acoustic planning of hotels, office buildings, schools and healthcare facilities, as well as assessing protection against external noise through façade walls. With a wide range of powerful features, CadnaB helps you complete these tasks efficiently:

  • Comprehensive calculation of airborne and impact sound insulation based on ISO 12354 (Parts 1–3) and DIN 4109 (2018) – for room pairs and external façades.

  • Automatic detection of room pairs and junctions based on geometry and construction data.

  • Flexible modeling with intuitive interface, including mouse-based drawing, storey duplication, and importing of layout plans.

  • Integrated construction databases with thousands of components – including DIN 4109, Saint-Gobain, Rigips, ISO, UBA, and more.

  • Full interoperability with CadnaA and CadnaR, enabling sound transmission analysis from outside to inside, inside to outside and between rooms.

  • Auralization of spectral calculation results to acoustically assess room performance.

  • Export of extensive results (e.g., interior levels, flanking transmissions) to Word, Excel– formatted to match the selected standard.

  • Requirements browser for easy selection and verification of requirements.

Walls and other elements can be modelled directly from the 2D plan. 3D view updates in real time accordingly to the new changes.
The results dialog shows the airborne and impact sound transmission, as well as the interior level results (if calculated) for every room pair. It also gives information about the junctions considered in the calculation.
Requirements can be set up easily in CadnaB. Once selected, extra information about the fulfilment will be shown for the room pair.
