CadnaR can be functionally expanded with a number of options*. Learn more about the available options below.

Some options need other options as a prerequisite for specific features. Please refer to the scope of performance document for more information. 

 

Option CAL: calculation and handling

Option CAL increases the performance of CadnaR enormously by adding additional calculation methods and further features.


  • Additional calculation methods: VDI3760, diffuse field method, hybrid method (image sources + particles).

  • Further source types: line source, area source, box-type source.

  • Calculation and visualization of the voxel grid

  • Usage of the receiver chains.

  • Plot Designer for printing customized layouts.

  • Automatic calibration of absorption and scattering coefficients to achieve user-defined target reverberation times.

  • Dosimeter function.

  • Batch calculation.

Option VIS: visualization

Option VIS adds visualization features to get a deeper understanding of the results and for presentation purposes.


  • Visualization of the calculation: calculation rays in 3D, particle animation.

  • Usage of high-resolution bitmaps (e.g. as a layout plan).

  • Import of textured 3D-Objects for presentation purposes.

  • Vertical grid and 3D grid.

Option ORG: project organization

With Option ORG, the organization and handling of projects of any size is massively improved.


  • Grouping of objects (Objectree).

  • Usage of variants.

  • Efficient handling and comparison of up to 16 scenarios in a single file.

  • Calculation of partial levels.

  • CUDA calculation.

  • Import of DWG and DXF files.

Option AUDIO

Option AUDIO is a must have extension for acoustics experts who need to calculate reverberation times, Speech Transmission Index (STI) and further parameters on top of the sound pressure levels.


  • Calculation and auralization of room acoustic and psychoacoustic parameters.

  • Calculation of energetic impulse responses and echograms.

  • Calculation of reverberation time (T10, T20, T30).

  • Calculation of the Speech Transmission Index (STI, STIPA).

  • Calculation of further parameters like e.g. Alcons, C60, D50, CIS and EDT.

Option OFFICE

Option OFFICE includes a selection of features from both options CAL and ORG for the handling, evaluation and optimization of offices and open plan offices. Usually to be combined with Option T (or Option AUDIO). 


  • Calculation and evaluation of receiver chains.

  • Horizontal grid calculation (2D).

  • Import of DWG files.

  • Export of full reports in MS Excel and MS Word.

  • Grouping of objects (Objectree).

  • Plot Designer for printing customized layouts.

Option T

Option T adds on selected features of Option AUDIO for the calculation and representation of the reverberation time (T20, T30). CadnaR with Options OFFICE and T represents the cost-efficient solution for office and also industrial applications with limited size and complexity when visualizations are not necessary. 


  • Calculation of energetic impulse responses and echograms at receivers.

  • Calculation of reverberation time (T20, T30).

  • Grid calculation for T20 and T30.

Option SET: sound emission and transmission

With the Option SET, sound power spectra for complex systems can be automatically generated based on technical system parameters of a sound source (e.g. electric power in kW, volume flow in m3/h, etc.). 


  • Generation of frequency spectra of radiating sound power determined from the technical parameters of a sound source.

  • Modeling of complex facilities and devices with multiple sound sources and radiating surfaces, considering the transmission between parts.

  • Ready-to-use stablished pool of data of about 150 pre-defined sound source models (source descriptions).

  • Data pool can be easily extended by user-defined sound source models.
