General Information

The Basics chapter deals with various kinds of features, so that the user can get an overview over the possibilities offered by CadnaA.
Simple entries and modifications of the three basic types of objects - points, lines and areas - are emphasized and provide knowledge about steps that can be used in almost every project.


The chapter starts with information about the settings in CadnaA that are used throughout this tutorial. Having the same settings as in the videos will help the user to understand the rest of the tutorial.
The following sections deal with object entry (with the mouse and the keyboard) and modification as well as with navigation in the scene. Assigning values to the different objects is discussed as well.
Then three types of calculations are presented: the evaluation of single receivers, the building evaluation and the grid calculation.
Furthermore, the chapter informs about how to view a scene in 3D, before it ends with overviews about the basics of import and export, project management and the plot designer.
Remember that the sections just provide basic information. To learn more about topics like import work through the respective chapter later in the tutorial.


It is recommended to start the tutorial with this chapter before working with more specialized ones. There are no preconditions for the start.
