Number of exposed Inhabitants

The number of residents in each building can be imported via the CadnaA-ODBC interface from databases or from MS-Excel-sheets. If these data are not available, CadnaA allows to estimate the residents in each building from the area and height. If the number of inhabitants of the city or of different areas is known, this can be used to normalize the estimated values so that their sum corresponds to the known value.

Having performed these calculations, the statistics on noise exposure versus number of residents as required by Annex VI of the Directive is a task for seconds. Using the extremely powerful feature "Object Scan" of CadnaA, the command "Residents in Level Classes" produces automatically and without any user action the required table.

This same operation can be repeated for those buildings having a relatively quiet facade - in this case, only buildings with a minimum level more than 20 dB lower than the maximum level are included in the evaluation.
